On April 30th and May 1st, the We Are Not Your Soldiers tour visited two NYC alternative high schools to take part in special study days each school was holding around social issues. John Burns, a member of Iraq Veterans Against the War, spoke to the students about his experiences and more generally about the unjust wars, the harsh realities of serving in the military and the post-traumatic stress that follows the veterans who come home. We also showed footage of another veteran, Ethan McCord, explaining the Collateral Murder massacre in Baghdad released to the world by Pvt. Manning. In one school, we met with a seminar group for two hours. In the other, we had half-hour sessions with four different classes.
